Veal Sells Out at BBC Good Food Show!
Bocaddon Farm Veal went to the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC in June, and our meat was so popular that we completely sold out!  The show was a great experience, and proved that British Veal is making a real comeback.
We had been awarded a Slow Food bursary award, which enabled us to attend the event at a fraction of the usual cost.  Part of this award involved presenting some Taste Workshops, where our veal was matched with Cornish Orchards excellent ciders for appreciative members of the pubic to savour.  Many thanks to Slow Food for the opportunity to bring our product to a wider audience and for supporting us so well during the event.
As seen on TV...
Yes it's true, Bocaddon Farm Veal was featured (albeit briefly) on Market Kitchen on the UKTV Food channel on 25 June.  It's all part of Andrew Webb's Big British Food Map - Andrew discussed his project with food luminaries Matthew Fort and Tom Aikens, and our Real Veal featured as one of the highlights of his journey so far.
Andrew's excellent article about us on the Channel 4 website is still proving popular, and well worth a gander if you haven't seen it already.  At the bottom of the article you'll see a link to Andrew's visit to Michelin-starred Restaurant Nathan Outlaw, only 5 miles from Bocaddon and one of our best customers.
On the subject of TV, you may have noticed that Janet Street-Porter has teamed up with Gordon Ramsay to rear some veal calves on the current series of The F Word.  This is also well worth a look, as it explores the issues surrounding British veal production and the less attractive alternatives for veal calves.
Farmers Markets and Events update
Recently we've taken our Real Veal to both Earls Court and the NEC, but the next few months see us staying closer to home and concentrating on our regular farmers markets in the South West.  We will also be making our debut at the Plymouth Flavour Fest in August, which should be a great showcase for food and drink from our local area.
Mail order veal still going strong...
Our mail order service is more popular than ever, and we are currently booked up until the second week of July - here are just a selection of recent customer comments:
  • The veal is just beautiful [...] thank you for offering such a fantastic service.”
