Jon and Vicky would like to wish all of our customers and friends
a veally Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

As Seen on TV!
Following our appearances on BBC Breakfast and Market Kitchen's Big Adventure, not to mention Jon's journey to the quarter finals of Britain's Best Dish, the TV cameras have again been rolling at Bocaddon.

On Monday 14th November we featured on brand new Channel 4 lunchtime food series Drop Down Menu.  As well as a short film feature focussing on our veal production, Jon was invited into the studio where Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett cooked a delicious veal stew.  Our episode is available to watch on the Channel 4 website until 13 December (
we feature from 25 mins in), and you can also find the veal stew recipe online.

New charcuterie range!
Not content with having the widest range of veal cuts in the UK (probably!), we are always looking for new product ideas, and are very excited to have teamed up with some of the UK's best charcuterie makers to expand our offer even further.  Capreolus, based in Dorset, have been air-drying some of our veal, with fantastic results; while multi-award-winning Trealy Farm charcuterie have produced a wonderful veal salami with lemon and thyme.  Both of these are new developments, so look out for more news in the New Year.

Changes at Bocaddon Farm Veal

Following the sudden and tragic death of Vicky's brother Rob, the dairy farmer at Bocaddon, in July 2010, all dairy farming activity sadly ceased at the family farm in 2011.  In order to continue with our award-winning veal business, we had to find another source of calves, and we are delighted that experienced local farmer Darrin Hooper agreed to rear calves for us, to our specifications, at his farm at nearby Tideford.

Our veal philosophy remains exactly the same as ever -
unwanted dairy bull calves reared in small groups, in the open air and with a varied diet. Cornish calves, reared and slaughtered in Cornwall, and all cut and prepared in our farm butchery at Bocaddon. With Darrin’s help we will be sure to provide the same quality product and the same personal service to new and existing customers across the UK.  To read more about the Bocaddon Farm Veal story, click here.
